The rod functions ok. The quality is a bit disappointing since the rod wrapping near the top when closed is inconsistent and torn in places. The bead that tightens to hold the line to the lillian slipped and I lost the line and bobber from the first fish so it is unfortunate that the kit only comes with 1 bobber for 2 lines.

The wrapping near the top definitely shouldn’t have looked like that. We missed it during our quality check before shipping, and that’s something we need to do better on.
As for the small bead on the lillian, it normally shouldn’t slip off like that. When attaching the line, tightening it just a little more should help keep it secure. Still, losing the line and your only float on the very first fish is definitely frustrating, and I completely understand why that was disappointing.
We’ve tried to keep this beginner kit as affordable as possible so more people can give this style of fishing a try, but we also know there are still quite a few small details that need to be improved. Feedback like yours is exactly what helps us see those things, and we’ll be making updates and improvements in the next version.

Great entry level kit.
Initially I bought one starter kit, and two more rods without the kit, with plans to give them to friends that would come tanago fishing with me, but after taking one out for a spin, I think I'll be keeping one for myself.
This was the first tanago rod and rig I've used, and my first catch was a heavier fish than I expected the setup to handle, but it had no problem hoisting it out of the water. The bait worked, the hook didn't bend, and the line was easier to work with than I expected. I even got stuck on some lily pads and was able to rip the hook out from several feet away without issue.
Considering the cost, I was surprised at just how great these kits are, you really can't go wrong if you're just starting out and want to give it a try.
Quality was way above expected , I assumed it was going to be some temu fun rod for fishingtiny fish, but came in decent quality box , packed everything in starter kit plus extra hooks and bait I ordered in same box neatly, the quality of the rod in my opinion was very nice had a design all throughout the extension, the pre-made rigs where adjusted to the rod size for me, overall for the money great product, and i caught fish over here in US with it first day with ease, expect longer delivery time if you live in US like me but worth it!
